My first post, Merry Christmas

Dear Diary,

When I look upon the world I am filled with both joy and sadness.

Joy, because I see the celebration of Jesus’s birth, the gathering of families, the exchange of gifts, and the spreading of love and goodwill. Sadness, because amidst all the festivities, the true essence of Christmas often gets overshadowed.

The year has been marked by numerous pressing issues that demand our attention and prayerful consideration.

The global economic crisis that began in 2008 is still hurting and its impact continues to reverberate, affecting individuals, families, and businesses in our city and beyond. Unemployment rates have soared, leaving many without jobs and struggling to provide for their loved ones. The housing market remains in turmoil, with foreclosures and evictions creating a sense of instability and hardship. As a Christian, I believe in the importance of compassion and support for those who are suffering and that is why we are downtown preaching, teaching, and praying.

The war in Afghanistan continues to claim lives and displace innocent civilians, and the aftermath of the Iraq War lingers on. As a Christian, I pray for reconciliation, and to actively work towards the resolution of conflicts.

As I reflect on these issues, I am reminded of the profound message of Christmas. It is a time to remember the birth of our Savior, Jesus Christ, who came to bring hope, peace, and redemption to a broken world. In the midst of these challenges, I find solace in the promise of God’s love and the transformative power of faith. It is a call for me, as a Christian, to embody these values in my interactions with others and to be a beacon of light in a world that often feels overwhelmed by darkness.

Christmas is not merely about the presents or the decorated trees. It’s not about indulging in feasts or the laughter shared with loved ones. Christmas is about something deeper, something profound that often goes unnoticed. It’s about the gift of hope, love, and redemption that Jesus brought into the world.

May this Christmas be a time of unity, where people come together in harmony, extending a helping hand to those in need. Let the spirit of Christmas inspire acts of kindness, generosity, and selflessness. For it is in these gestures that the true spirit of Christmas resides.

Please pray for me as I try to find my destiny in Christ, as I don’t think my church is going to let me serve in any capacity and that saddens me.

Lord please give me the strength to serve the lost who are hurting so bad right now.
